Advonet exists to ensure everyone can have their needs heard and their rights respected. It both delivers services directly and promotes independent advocacy provided by partners in Leeds and the surrounding area.
On April 1st 2015 Advocacy Support, Leeds Advocacy and Advocacy for Mental Health & Dementia merged with Advonet, with a public re-launch event on 2nd October.

Our services include:
- Supporting providers of advocacy with information and training
- Help for those seeking advocacy in Leeds by operating a ‘single point of access’ telephone helpline
- Delivering independent advocacy for:
⇒People with learning disabilities
⇒People experiencing mental distress and dementia; including people who are detained in hospital or receiving treatment in the community under the Mental Health Act (IMHA)
⇒People from BME communities requiring culturally sensitive, bilingual support
⇒People who lack ‘capacity’ to make critical decisions (IMCA)
⇒Care Act advocacy
⇒People wanting support with Leeds NHS Complaints (Leeds Independent Health Complaints Advocacy)
