‘That’s what I like about advocacy!’ DVD

Advonet has produced a DVD about advocacy and advocacy issues.

The premiere took place at the Royal Armouries, Leeds, in front of an
invited audience of health and social care professionals, volunteers,
advocates and those using such services.

Barbara Dean, then chair of Leeds Mental Health Advocacy Group,
appears in the video. "(Advocacy) has made a huge difference to me,"she says.

"It's taken me from being someone with no self-esteem at
all to being in the position where I feel like a responsible adult."

The production was paid for by health and social care funds in
Leeds and features individuals who have advocates telling in their
own words how they benefit from their help.

Among the agencies featured are Leeds Advocacy, the Advocacy
and Interpreting Service (now Advocacy Support) and Leeds
Mental Health Advocacy Group (now Advocacy for Mental Health and Dementia).

The DVD is ideal for use by care agencies for staff training.

Copies are available for £5.00 each. Please use this order form.
Payments must be sent with orders.
